The truest expression of a people is in its dance and in its music. Bodies never lie.

The English dictionnary  define dance as " A sequence of rhythmic steps or movements performed to music, for pleasure or as a form of social interaction. "  I agree with  this defenition but I also want to add  is also a way  to people  feel good psysically and mentally  and allow us to express our emotions, feelings and thoughts.

As a Woman with latinamerican blood running in my blood, I always found dancing  a form to express my cultural thoughts and the best way to socialize, enjoy myself and watch other people enjoying themselves.
I've to admit I not the best dancer in the world, because I always been clumsy especially if I get excited doing something I enjoy. My arts teacher always said to me, "Oh girl, You could it  dance good as Judy Garland, but then you ended like Humpty Dumpty" LOL Well, she was right because I started dancing very well but some reason in the end of the dance I always  got lost in my own thoughts and ruined the dance.
Anyway this blog is dedicated to all the people who are finding themselves wanting to find a way to have a good time, smile and  escape for a little bit from the difficult or stressful time that you maybe  having daily. Especially to my lovely friend Pat who I'm very grateful to met through a dancing forum and she is an admirable woman.
I will blooging all about dancing competions, all kind of dances  and my own personal experiences in the dancing world.

Social Dance
__________
Social dance is  a major category or classification of dance forms or dance styles, where sociability and socializing are the primary focuses.
Although dance is a social activity itself, when people talk about social dancing, they are separating the technical aspects of other dances in the competitive dancing world.
For example Salsa, Argentine Tango, Merengue, Rock roll, Lindy hop, Jiterbug, etc.
Although you need to master certain moves to  dance these dances, the main purporse of them are to socialize and have fun rather than get technical.
Most of the ballroom dances are base in some of the social dances. The Chacahacha and Samba are social dances but when the ballroom dance took them to their competitive dance world, this dances changed their fredom of their own movents to a technical one suitable to ballroom dancing.
